ISPI partners with academic institutions, government agencies, regional organizations, and international bodies to produce research that island communities cannot access anywhere else.
Academic institutions contribute peer review access and institutional affiliation. ISPI contributes practitioner grounding, island-specific research frameworks, and published research infrastructure. Joint papers are co-authored and submitted to relevant journals.
Government agencies engage ISPI for independent policy analysis, framework assessments, and research briefs. ISPI maintains full editorial independence — commissioning agencies cannot alter findings or recommendations. Research is produced under ISPI's RAND-equivalent publication standards.
Regional organizations — Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, CDEMA, CARICOM IMPACS, Commonwealth Secretariat, Pacific Community — partner with ISPI to produce research applicable across all 39 SIDS communities. ISPI's SIDS global bridge framework makes every Hawaii finding applicable worldwide.
Corporations operating in Hawaii, the Pacific, the Caribbean, the Maldives, and comparable island environments partner with ISPI for Island-Resilient Certification — documenting island-specific security and ESG framework compliance for board governance, insurance underwriting, and regulatory disclosure.
View Certification Program →All ISPI research is produced under the ISPI Research Methodology Guide v4.0 — a five-pillar framework drawing from government agency sources, regional organization data, OSINT tools with Bellingcat two-source verification, the ISPI Global Expert Panel of 68 researchers across 14 disciplines, and AI research synthesis under practitioner review. Research partners receive full methodology transparency and access to the governing methodology document.
Send a brief description of your organization and the research question you are working on. ISPI responds to all partnership inquiries within 48 hours.
